Feverish delay,
Insight that may
Trickle as it rains.
Burden me with pain,
The weight of a thousand men,
Falling to purple haze.
There's a tangerine dream,
A liquid scream,
And I never meant to hold onto her,
But the past has a way of resurfacing.

I am strong,
I fought the war,
Blasting brains,
Frightening trains.
The journey of a hardened man,
Pitless to think on it.
There's a tangerine dream,
A tangy steam,
And I never really loved her much at all
But the past--a blast--fired shot to the head.

You're loading the gun,
But you don't know how.
It's not as though you're daft,
Not off your face or head,
Just prone to indiscretion
And accidents.

Load the gun,
Pull the trigger.
It's so easy,
Like you're walking now,
Crawling,
Calling,
Cawing,
Tangerine screams.
